Can a microcontroller (8051) be powered by battery (small) 5v? If yes, then how many days/hour will it work?

My answer to Can a microcontroller (8051) be powered by battery (small) 5v? If yes, then how many days/hour will it…

Answer by Shaunak Agastya Vyas:

Yes, It can be powered. The working hours will depend on two parameters:

  1. Current requirement of 8051.
  2. mAh rating of the battery.

You can go through the datasheet of 8051 for its maximum drawn current value. Based on that you can get the working hours of the battery by dividing its mAh rating by current.

This will give you minimum working hours which you should take into account for designing a robust system.
